System Security - Do Read!

Dear Fellows!

It has come to our attention that our users are facing some problems while visiting the portal, specifically a significant load on the system resources, slowing the processor down. We have traced the root of the problem to be with one of the ads on the site, which we have to host as a necessity, and despite complaints with the webamster of the concerned website, we have not received a fruitful response yet. Therefore, we must warn you that while this problem is sorted out, you must take steps to strengthen your system security and safeguard yourself against the issue.

Recommended would be...

1. Pop-up Blocker. You can always get a good one with the Google Toolbar and the Yahoo! Toolbar.

2. A good Anti-Virus Software. Although conventional products like McAfee, Norton, and PcCillin are more than sufficient, another more resource friendly AV software is ESET's NOD 32. You can try that out as an alternative

3. A Firewall is essentially recommended. For those of you using OS other than Windows XP with Service Pack 2, Zone Labs' ZoneAlarm is a must. You can get it at www.zonelabs.com

4. Adware/Spyware Removal Tool. Most recommended is Lavasoft's AdAware. You can get it at Lavasoft
