Guftagu karta tha, gaataa tha, haNsaa karta tha
Jism meraa thaa, koyee aur rahaa karta tha


AahateiN, dastakeiN, rah rah ke sunaa karta tha
Dinn meiN sau baar ye darwazaa khulaa karta tha


Pahle voh mere liye jab bhee duaa karta tha
Uski aawaaz meiN ek dard huaa karta tha


Jiska saaya mere hamraah chala khata hai
Pahle voh khud mere hamraah chalaa karta tha


AasmaaN ab bhi vohi, khaahisheiN ab bhi haiN vohi
Voh magar par kahaaN jin se maiN uRaa karta tha


Raat ho, din ho, kaRee dhoop ho ya thandi chhaaoN
Har qadam sar pe mere saayaa rahaa karta tha


Khauf jo mujh ko pareshaan kiyaa karte thay
Un ko aksar nazar-aNdaaz kiyaa kkarta tha
